Four significant collections of Aesop‟s Fables were published in the classical antiquity. The first collection, no longer exists, it was a work in Greek prose around B.C. by Demetrius of Phalerum, was used as a reference book of fables for writers and public speakers.
The second collection is Augustana recension. Even if the fables in the Life of Aesop were not able to rescue Aesop from the Delphians, 'Aesop's fables' are one of the longest-lived and most widely diffused genres of ancient Greek and Roman culture.
The tradition flourished for more than a thousand years in Greece and Rome, and then sprang back to life in the later Middle Ages, enjoying. Accursed is to be under judgment of God and would not necessarily manifest a difference in this life.
